The Melkite Association of Young Adults (M.A.Y.A.): It is an organization of Melkite Catholics ages 18 – 26 under the Melkite Greek Catholic Church in the United States and the patronage of our Bishop, the Most Reverend Nicholas Samra, Eparch of Newton, which exists to help ourselves and one another strengthen our relationship with God. In order to attend the annual National M.A.Y.A. Retreat, one must be at least one year out of high school in order to be eligible. Those who are 18 years old and have "graduated" from the National Association of Melkite Youth (N.A.M.Y), are welcomed and encouraged to begin participating in local and regional M.A.Y.A. events that take place throughout the year.
*St. Basil's M.A.Y.A Group was established in 2012 with the help of Fr. Joe, Fr. Imad and our adviser George Mardo. Since then we have already accomplished many things. We hosted a regional M.A.Y.A retreat, we sponsored our first fundraiser, we attended the NATIONAL M.A.Y.A Convention, we helped with the outdoor family festival and we have had many successful meetings. Our M.A.Y.A group is slowly but surely growing stronger day by day. This group really helps us young adults to grow closer spiritually and socially because we have something in common that we can all connect to.... OUR FAITH. We hope to become extremely involved within our parish and within the National M.A.Y.A. group. We are always looking for new members to join!! For more information and for updates on meetings and other events please refer to the bulletin or see any
St. Basil's M.A.Y.A officer.
REMEMBER: The young adults today are the church of tomorrow.
